Booking & Planning

  • You are welcome to book as close as 2 weeks before your event, we will do our best to accommodate last-minute bookings, though we cannot guarantee on-time delivery for orders placed fewer than 2 weeks out.

    For weddings during peak season (May–October), booking 3–6 months in advance is recommended to guarantee your preferred date. For other events and off-season dates, 1–2 months is usually sufficient.

  • Yes, date changes can be accommodated if requested at least 6 weeks before your originally scheduled delivery date. Please contact us as soon as possible if your plans change. Requests within 6 weeks of the scheduled delivery date are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

  • Yes! We currently ship anywhere within the United States. We are working on expanding internationally in the near future; sign up for our newsletter to be notified when that changes.

Equipment & Setup

  • Not at all. Each camcorder arrives fully charged, set up, and ready to film right out of the box. Helpful stickers on the camera show you exactly what to press also!

    And we include a QR Code with the following guides:

    • Quick-start instructions

    • Shot list with creative ideas to help guide filming

  • Yes! Our camcorders capture both high-quality video and audio.

  • Our camcorders come with a memory card that allows for more than 8 hours of video recording. If you feel you need more space to capture every candid moment of your entire event weekend we offer an upgraded large memory card at checkout. A charger and extra battery are also included.

  • Each battery lasts up to approximately 3–4 hours of continued recording. We include a charger and a spare battery so you will have plenty of power throughout the day.

  • Most couples ask a few trusted friends, family members, or members of the wedding party to capture moments throughout the day. We include a shot list guide to make it easy for anyone to pick up the camera and know what to film. Because the people filming know you and are part of your celebration, the footage often feels more personal and authentic than footage captured by a professional.

  • Every package is shipped with tracking. If your package has not arrived 48 hours before your event, contact us immediately at hello@thecamcorderco.com and we will work to resolve it as quickly as possible.

  • Every camcorder is tested and sanitized before shipment. We strongly recommend testing your camcorder as soon as it arrives. Do not wait until the day of your event. If for any reason the camcorder is not working, contact us within 24 hours of receiving your delivery at hello@thecamcorderco.com and we will expedite a replacement.

Returns & Shipping

  • Your rental period expires 72 hours after your event date. Equipment should be return-shipped on the first business day following the end of your rental period. Your order confirmation will include your specific return date.

  • Simply repack the camcorder in the original box using the provided packaging materials and drop it off at an authorized carrier location using the prepaid return shipping label included in your kit. Retain your drop-off receipt as proof of return.

  • No problem, contact us at hello@thecamcorderco.com and we will email you a replacement prepaid return label at no additional cost.

  • Ship the camcorder back on the next business day. We understand holidays and weekends happen and offer a small grace period for these situations.

  • Late returns incur a fee of $35 per day starting the day after your return due date. If the camcorder is not returned within 5 days past the return date, you may be charged the full replacement cost of the equipment.

  • We strongly prefer that you use the provided prepaid label as it includes tracking and insurance. If you choose to use a different carrier, you are responsible for ensuring the camcorder is returned successfully. We recommend purchasing tracking. If the camcorder is lost using an unauthorized carrier, it will be considered unreturned and replacement fees will apply.

Damage, Loss & Insurance

  • Please notify us immediately if the camcorder is lost, stolen, or damaged. A minimum damage fee of $250 applies. If the repair or replacement cost exceeds $250, you will be responsible for the full replacement value of the equipment, unless you have purchased our insurance option at check out.

    We recommend purchasing our optional insurance coverage at checkout to protect against these situations.

  • Our optional insurance add-on covers loss, theft, and damage to the equipment during the rental period. Specific coverage terms are outline here. If you do not purchase insurance, we reserve the right to place a refundable security deposit hold on your payment method.

Footage & Your Wedding Film

  • Once we receive your returned camcorder:

    • Raw footage download link: within 2 business days of receipt

    • Professionally edited wedding film: within 14 business days of receipt

    A rush upgrade add-on is available at checkout if you need your edited film delivered faster.

  • We store your raw footage and edited film for 90 days following delivery of your completed edited film. After 90 days, footage moves to archive storage. Access to archived footage is available upon request and subject to an archival access fee. We recommend downloading and backing up your footage as soon as you receive it.

  • Absolutely. Many couples use the camcorder throughout their entire wedding weekend: welcome dinners, rehearsal events, the wedding day itself, and even the morning-after brunch. It is a great way to capture candid moments and memories beyond just the ceremony and reception.

  • You will receive a professionally edited wedding film that focuses on storytelling: combining meaningful moments, emotions, and candid memories into a film you will love watching for years to come. Our editing style reflects the personal, authentic nature of footage captured by the people who know you best.

  • Yes. Traditional wedding videographers can cost several thousand dollars. Our camcorder rental and professional editing service offers a much more affordable way to capture and preserve your wedding day while still receiving a beautifully edited film.

  • Yes! If you need multiple camcorders, custom edits, or other accommodations, please contact us at hello@thecamcorderco.com for a custom quote.
