Return / Exchange Policy

The Camcorder Co LLC provides rental equipment and professional video editing services, not retail products. This policy outlines how rentals, returns, cancellations, and issues are handled.


1. No Returns or Exchanges

All camcorders are rented for temporary use and must be returned at the end of the rental period. Because this is a rental service:

  • We do not offer product returns for refunds once a rental period has started

  • We do not offer exchanges once equipment has shipped

  • We do not accept returns in place of payment


Once your rental period begins, the service is considered fulfilled. If you are unsure which product to rent or have questions about our service before booking, please contact us at hello@thecamcorderco.com — we are happy to help guide you to the right option before you commit.


2. Cancellations

All payments are non-refundable. Because we commit equipment to your rental date and turn away other potential bookings, we are unable to offer refunds for customer cancellations regardless of timing.


Special circumstances such as documented medical emergencies, natural disasters, or venue closures may be reviewed at our discretion. Please contact us to discuss your situation. We make no guarantees regarding exceptions but will review each case individually.


3. Rental Period

Your rental period begins on the delivery date and expires 72 hours after your event date as specified in your order confirmation. Equipment must be return-shipped on or before the first business day following expiration of the rental period. You are responsible for:

  • Returning equipment using the provided return label

  • Dropping off at an authorized carrier location

  • Retaining proof of shipment until we confirm receipt


Late returns will incur a fee of $35 per day. If equipment is not returned within 5 days past the due date, the full replacement cost may be charged.


4. Date Changes

If your event date changes, please contact us at least 6 weeks before your originally scheduled delivery date. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes, but requests within 6 weeks of the scheduled delivery date cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability.


5. Equipment Issues

All equipment is tested and sanitized before shipment. If you experience an issue upon delivery:

  • Contact us within 24 hours of delivery at hello@thecamcorderco.com

  • Provide a description of the problem

  • Provide photo or video documentation if possible


If the issue is verified as a mechanical or technical failure not caused by misuse, we may provide troubleshooting support, ship replacement equipment if timing allows, or issue a partial refund or credit at our discretion.


6. Damage, Loss, or Theft

You are responsible for the equipment during your rental period. A minimum damage fee of $250 applies to any lost, stolen, or damaged equipment. If the cost of repair or full replacement value exceeds $250, you are responsible for the full replacement value. If you purchased insurance at checkout, coverage is subject to the terms provided at checkout.


Damage includes but is not limited to:

  • Physical damage

  • Water damage

  • Loss or theft

  • Missing components


7. Condition Upon Return

All returned equipment is inspected. If damage or missing items are identified, you will be notified and applicable charges will be applied. Normal wear and tear is acceptable; excessive damage is not.


8. Footage and Deliverables

Failure to return equipment may result in loss of access to footage and delay or cancellation of editing services. We are not responsible for lost footage due to user error, failure to operate equipment properly, or failure to return equipment.


If footage is lost due to a verified technical failure on our part, we will provide a refund up to the total amount you have paid for the rental and editing services, subject to the Video Guarantee terms in our Terms of Service.
